2026 Discraft‘s Supreme Flight Open - FPO Final B9 Recap

The final nine holes of the 2026 DGPT season opener. It was tight – anyone from the lead or chase card could win, with only five strokes separating the top eight. The lead card hadn’t shot as hot as previous days, and the chase card was chasing hard. A light north wind added an element of difficulty to holes that were already treacherous. The lead card: Taylor Chocek at fourteen-under (leading), Lisa Fajkus at twelve-under, Jessica Gurthie at thirteen-under, and Missy Gannon at eleven-under. From the chase card, Ohn Scoggins was lurking at eleven-under. Commentary by Madison Walker and Erica Stinchcomb – the Two Hot Geese.

Hole 10 | Par 3 | 325 ft | The backbone

The spine hole with a right-to-left crosswind and slight tail. Taylor turned her disc over into the rough but got a fortunate bounce back to the edge of the fairway. Jessica caught the guardian center tree and kicked left. Lisa was looking good but caught that last tree on the right, scrambling with a turning forehand through a 12-foot gap – a really solid save. Missy dropped it around circle’s edge. Ohn on the chase card also managed par. Only six birdies on the day – par was a victory on the backbone. A clean start for the lead card with the top eight still separated by five strokes.

Hole 11 | Par 4 | 430 ft | New basket, rollaways strike

The prettiest hole on the course turned ugly for two players. Lisa took the earlier gap she’d been lacing all week and tapped in for birdie, bringing her to within one stroke of the lead. Taylor came in a little hot and ended up past the landing zone, but saved par with a touch forehand up the hill. Missy made it through the middle gap with a hot drive but went deep into unfriendly territory. The rollaways decided to stack up and pounce – every green on this course is sloped, and they all hit Missy at once. A chaos scramble turned what should have been a birdie into a brutal bogey. Jessica pulled out a roller to escape trouble but found a trap she didn’t know existed, launching to the other side with nothing, then rolling back again – double bogey. A nightmare hole. From the chase card, Ohn converted for birdie, moving to twelve-under.

Hole 12 | Par 4 | 620 ft | Downhill, OB left, Ohn chasing

A headwind that switched from yesterday (now left to right). Ohn opted for the outside route from the chase card, got tangled on the tree line but hit a huge flex putt from barely inside circle two – birdie, moving to thirteen-under and tied for second with Lisa. Lisa set up beautifully after her forehand drive and put it on the green about 20 feet away – birdie to stay tied with Ohn at thirteen-under. Taylor turned her backhand a lot and found some rough spots but managed par with solid putting. Missy worked the right side too hard and had an unforced error on her approach – bogey, now four strokes off the lead. Jessica turned her forehand too much and found OB early, then crushed a massive recovery shot (“that was like 350 from there”) but couldn’t save the bogey.

Hole 13 | Par 4 | 468 ft | Ohn’s turkey, Missy fights back

The chess match intensified. Ohn placed her drive exactly where you want it – far and right with the hyzer angle to the green – then drilled a putt on the elevated basket for a turkey. Three birdies in a row from the chase card. She was now tied one stroke ahead of the entire lead card, in sole possession of the lead at fourteen-under. The crowd was carrying her between shots. Missy needed a response – she worked through the wall of trees, found a gap, and drained a dead-center putt for birdie. “She needed that after the last kind of stretch of holes just bleeding bogeys.” Her ponytail bounced with conviction. Jessica also found tree love and converted for birdie – a bounce back after the double and bogey. Taylor, feeling the pressure for the first time all week, tried to go for birdie but hit a very early tree. Then a low-ceiling approach came out early – the first time she’d looked nervous, “like she’s leading the tournament and has something to lose.” Bogey. Lisa stayed clean with a well-played par.

Hole 14 | Par 5 | 900 ft | Taylor’s psycho recovery

Taylor hit the bluff one inch too low – a surprising mistake for someone with her power. But then she went psycho. Two massive forehand recovery shots, going for birdie from hitting the bluff. The commentators: “That’s crazy. No, that’s psycho, and I love it.” The mid-range approach covered an estimated 380 feet. She didn’t get the birdie, but the par save was the most impressive scramble of the tournament. Missy played it by the book – good distance up the bluff, turning shot up the left side, centered approach. Par. Lisa went up the right side with nice skips but couldn’t bite off enough. Par. Jessica swung her third wide and got caught, but managed well for par. From the chase card, Ohn converted another birdie – her fourth in five holes – to extend to fifteen-under. The crowd was going wild, but the lead card couldn’t see it. They could feel Ohn breathing on their necks.

Hole 15 | Par 5 | 883 ft | Lead card crumbles

The course punished the lead card. Taylor, now two back from Ohn’s lead, had her drive hit by an Athena from the heavens – a vine hanging from nowhere – then got hat blindness on her approach run-up and launched a very errant shot deep into the densest woods anyone had ever seen. A couple feet out of bounds. Bogey. Lisa kept it low and managed well through most of the hole, hitting some rocks near the green, but got nervy and missed her par putt. Bogey. Missy early-released off the tee and found deep rough left, then couldn’t recover. Bogey. Three bogeys on the lead card. Jessica was the lone survivor – she went hyper-aggressive with a drive that hit the crowd, then delivered the “easiest birdie layup ever” for birdie. Meanwhile, Ohn took a par on the third-most difficult hole of the day, extending her lead even further. Only four birdies field-wide.

Hole 16 | Par 4 | 635 ft | Birdies on the hardest hole

The hardest hole on the course for the third straight day – 0.6 over par, most difficult of the day. But the contenders found magic. Ohn threw one of the best tee shots the commentators had ever seen on this hole, getting a favorable roll, then split the trees on her approach in a way that defied belief. “The course wants her to win, I guess.” Birdie – seven-under for the round. Holyn Handley from the chase card also birdied with a clutch putt (“she’s won before, she knows how to do it”), now at eleven-under. Taylor worked a forehand hyzer recovery into the wide open and pinned her birdie putt with bored confidence – the type of putt that should look really difficult on lead card in your second year on tour. “Why is she so relaxed?” Birdie. Missy matched Ohn’s line to the green and converted – birdie on the hardest hole on the course, a flex coming down the stretch. Lisa found herself in the heat map’s red spot – punished for a good tee shot, as always on this hole. Bogey. Jessica took a hard kick into OB and scrambled for double bogey.

Hole 17 | Par 3 | 175 ft | Ohn eight-under, Missy fighting

A headwind you couldn’t feel on the tee but could see turning backhand shots straight into the trees. Ohn threw a classic flex forehand – probably a Destroyer – and from the chase card delivered another birdie. Eight-under for the round. She’d only parred two of the last nine holes. “To be able to turn it on at this point in the tournament is crazy.” Missy threw a standstill shot in the wind, found the circle, and converted with a slow fist pump in the air – two birdies in a row, “this next moment’s my moment.” Taylor threw a standstill sidearm just inches too high but found a way to save par. Lisa gave it an effort but rattled out, settling for par. Jessica had her bad abandoned throw go way down the hill – bogey.

Hole 18 | Par 5 | 680 ft | Ohn takes the crown

The iconic finisher. Ohn Scoggins needed a birdie to make it unreachable, and the hole set up perfectly for her game – huge forehand off the tee, flex to go up the hill. She threw a monstrous drive, then went backhand up the hill – and that was it. “Oh yeah. That’s it, man. There’s nothing nobody can do.” Seven-under on the back nine. Course record 58. Eighteen-under for the tournament. Champion.

Taylor went for the eagle she needed to have any chance. She made it look easy, getting up the hill for birdie – a fitting finish to an incredible debut on lead card. Holyn Handley also pushed for the eagle but came up just short, settling for birdie to tie Taylor for second at fourteen-under. Missy hit a huge putt and backboarded the trees but still somehow turned it – “what was that?” – and chipped up for par, finishing at eleven-under. Lisa went early off the tee, didn’t cross, and played from the drop zone for par, holding on to fourth at twelve-under. Jessica also found the drop zone, took par, and slid to eighth at eight-under.

Final Results

Ohn Scoggins’ seven-under back nine was one of the most dominant closing stretches in DGPT history. A turkey on 11-12-13, birdies on the hardest hole on the course and three of the final four holes – and she did it all from the chase card, only the second player to win from off the lead card in recent memory. “I don’t think I can win this tournament, to be honest,” she said after the round. “But this morning I woke up and said, I have a chance. If you want to win nowadays, you need to go for everything. And I feel like I go like crazy today.”

Taylor Chocek and Holyn Handley tied for second in a fantastic showing. Lisa Fajkus held on to fourth after leading through much of the tournament. Missy Gannon finished fifth with a gutsy two-birdie finish on 16 and 17 to fight back from mid-round struggles.
