2026 Discraft‘s Supreme Flight Open - MPO R2B9 Recap

The back nine at Olympus is a different kind of beast – you can go low, but it can also get away from you in a hurry. The front nine saw McBeth build a four-under cushion while Casey White fell back to one-over. From the chase card, Ricky Wysocki was already on an absolute heater, and Sullivan Tipton had fired a seven-under round to jump into the mix. Things were bunching up. Hole 10 | Par 3 | 370 ft | Tunnel shot, new pin position

A challenging par 3 with trees down the middle and a tough green. The new pin position on the right side accesses the hillside, bringing danger. McBeth had one of the most off-balance releases you’ll see but got away with robbery – the commentators joked he’s got a family to take care of and can’t be doing that. Hammes threw a gorgeous counter-skip with the Judge, an absolute dead skip right at the basket. Inside the circle with a good look. Simon got away with his miss and had a look as well. Casey threw his preferred hyzer flip-up line but couldn’t quite get the break he needed. Hammes converted the birdie – his putting has been extraordinary all day.

Hole 11 | Par 4 | 545 ft | Redesigned, much harder in 2026

A technical par 4 that only yielded 14 birdies on the day. McBeth went with the forehand on his second shot and navigated into the bowl – right where you want to be. Hammes had the power to get there but a dinker branch stopped him, requiring a pinpoint forehand hyzer around the corner. His approach wasn’t quite enough and he dropped a bogey. Casey had a great drive go unrewarded again – his second shot abandoned him, but he was able to come up clutch with a par save. That’s something Hammes was unable to say. Simon played smart with an anhyzer into the green.

Hole 12 | Par 3 | 530 ft | Downhill ~90 ft, big forehand hole

A massive par 3 that requires so much power and not much else. The lead card managed to keep it clean with pars across the board. Hammes had to dig deep on a tough jump putt from distance but his putter stayed hot – his putting has been the story of his round. McBeth made another solid par. Casey couldn’t quite capitalize but walked away with par. Simon wasn’t doing a whole lot one way or the other this round but steady play was keeping him in contention.

Hole 13 | Par 3 | 452 ft | New hole, three guardian trees

A brand new hole at 452 feet dead straight with two pinch points that make it so tough. From the chase card, Ricky Wysocki was perfect – powering through the left side and finishing flat and straight with unique power. The commentators noted he was at 14-under, absolutely unconscious. Back on the lead card, McBeth threw a beautiful shot just outside the circle and drained the birdie putt. Casey found his magic again with a primo shot – the birdie got him back to even par on the round, a much-needed boost. Hammes managed the par. Simon wasn’t as fortunate, struggling with the second pinch point and taking a bogey.

Hole 14 | Par 4 | 764 ft | Uphill, must clear the crest

The commentators noted that if you watched round one, the early releases on this hole happened when the players could barely see 15 feet in front of them in the dark. Today was a different story with actual visibility. McBeth had birdie in mind after a great tee shot and delivered. Hammes was gapping through the trees and found his line – birdie to bounce back from the hole 11 bogey. Casey and Simon both managed pars, keeping their rounds steady.

Hole 15 | Par 5 | 962 ft | Straight downhill bomber

One of the rare par 5s where you can see the basket from the tee – 962 feet straight down the hill. Usually one of the easier holes, but it can get away from you. Simon got a good break off an overturned drive, then uncorked a beautiful second shot that set up an easy birdie. “Should be an easy birdie now for Simon,” the commentators called, and he delivered. McBeth took an accurate, non-aggressive route up the fairway and played it safe for par. Casey threw his classic hyzer flip but it didn’t flip, leaving him in a tough spot – he managed par through scrambling. Hammes got deep on the left side where options got more and more limited. He couldn’t recover, and the double bogey was a gut punch.

Hole 16 | Par 4 | 695 ft | Tricky tee shot, anhyzer required

A unique hole requiring a big flex shot with an overstable driver. From the chase card, Ricky Wysocki produced one of the wildest highlights of the day – a shanky tee shot that somehow found an inside lane straight to the pin for a bullseye birdie. “You’ll never see that again,” the commentators laughed. Six birdies in the last seven holes for Ricky. Back on the lead card, McBeth hit a pesky branch but managed to recover for par. Hammes stayed clean with par as well. Casey’s second shot let him down again and he took a bogey. Simon had a disastrous sidearm on his approach – “that wasn’t far, he threw that really hard” – and the double bogey was crushing. The wheels were coming off for Simon.

Hole 17 | Par 4 | 550 ft | Obtainable birdie, but treacherous OB

A hole that gets tougher on Championship Sunday. You need so much touch to land it in the tiny landing zone, then touch again into the low-ceiling protected green. From the chase card, Ricky went deep and out of bounds, but then produced an unreal putter save from his knees – “earth to Ricky Wysocki, who’s been on the absolute heater.” Back on the lead card, Simon pulled off the shot of the hole – a standstill flex from an impossible position that left the commentators speechless. “What a shot maker, holy moly.” The birdie softened the blow of the double bogey on 16, finishing his round at two-under. McBeth continued his clean back nine with another birdie – his putting was fantastic all day. Casey managed a par. Hammes couldn’t convert from just outside the circle and took a bogey.

Hole 18 | Par 4 | 680 ft | The iconic cliff-to-cliff finisher

The dream finishing hole. McBeth went overstable on his second shot forehand, working the angle beautifully to set up another birdie – his fourth of the back nine. His putting has been phenomenal, and the commentators noted he did it for birdie all day. Hammes went overstable forehand as well and rolled it up the hill – birdie to finish on a high note after a rollercoaster back nine. Simon collected a birdie too, capping off a gutsy two-under round despite the stomach flu and the double on 16. Casey’s rough day continued with a bogey to finish two-over for the round. A 12-stroke swing from his 10-under opening round.

Back 9 Summary

The story of round two was Ricky Wysocki on the chase card. An 11-under 54 – the course record at Olympus – vaulted him into the outright lead at 18-under heading into Championship Sunday. Six birdies in his last seven holes on the back nine. He hasn’t won on tour in a couple of seasons, but he looked hungry and dialed in.

McBeth answered with an eight-under round of his own, sitting three shots back at 15-under. His only bogey both rounds has been on hole 4. Kyle Klein and Chandler Kramer both sit at 13-under. The Championship Sunday lead card: Wysocki, McBeth, Klein, Kramer. A classic old-school battle between Ricky and Paul to start the 2026 season.
